Is Tim Tebow Becoming a Bitcoin Investor?

Not only is Tim Tebow a world-class athlete, outspoken Christian man, entrepreneur, and a philanthropic hero... but he's a Crypto investor too.

Full disclosure: The author of this article is a Denver Broncos fan and is, therefore, a fan of all things Tim Tebow.

We consider Tebow a great example of a public figure using his fame to expose people to Christ's message. He should be applauded for continuing to do so even in the face of tremendous public criticism and pressure to give it up.

However, Tim Tebow's career has changed direction and he's not playing on a football field anymore. Instead, he has become a serial entrepreneur and philanthropist.

One of his most interesting businesses is 'Campus Legends' a college sports digital collectibles business that mints and sells NFT's (Non-Fungible-Tokens).

Here is a brief description of the business from Sportico:

“These college athletes help create so many great memories for fans and work so hard, but sometimes when they leave school, they’re forgotten,” Tebow said in a statement. “To me, Campus Legends is way more than NFTs and digital collectibles. It’s special to me because we have the chance to use this progress in technology and NIL to support the athletes not only when they’re in school, but afterwards as well.”

With plans to feature a vast range of schools, Campus Legends is restricting its NFTs to its own platform, which will also host a secondary marketplace. Both athletes and the school will receive ongoing royalty payments as their collectibles are bought and sold. A portion of sales will also be evenly distributed among active college players, meaning sales of Tebow collectibles will benefit current Florida athletes. Some proceeds will also help former athletes in need.

The value and utility of NFT's are widely debated within the Bitcoin and crypto community.

Even prominent NFT investors, such as Gary Vaynerchuck, believe many NFT projects will drop to $0 (source).

The truth is, many NFT projects are fly-by-night businesses that are really just cash-grabs and have no intention of creating value for people, building a community, or serving any real purpose.

This does not appear to be the case for Tim Tebow's NFT business.

However, our hope is Tim Tebow will invest more time learning about Bitcoin and how it is in greater compliance with the biblical principles of Christian finances and Sound Money

A recent episode of The Investors Podcast even mentioned the host met with Tim Tebow briefly to discuss Bitcoin! You can listen to it below (within the first five minutes).

Regardless, Tim Tebow is quickly become one of the most high-profile Christians advocating for the crypto industry.

It's great to have him onboard! Hopefully this time next year, Tim Tebow has made Bitcoin a bigger part of his business.
